Heelys In CSI: Miami

In Season 4 of CSI: Miami one actor who was involved in a bank robbery brought his heelys with him. Check out the video above

The Road To Heelys Pro Series

Many heelers have eagerly been awaiting the arrival of the Pro Series. The Pro Series are in a style of Heelys known as Mega-Grind, a shoe with a Mega wheel and grind plate.  Before the Pro were the Torches and before Torches were the Evolutions, the first pair of Mega-Grind Heelys. Mega-Grind Heelys are the preferred style for many heelers and the only style suitable for vert skating. After the Torches became discontinued in early Summer 07 they became very scarce but could still be found on some retailer's websites. Overtime they became even harder to find based on the size you wanted. Size 12 went away first followed by 11 and so on. Now they are nearly impossible to find except in small sizes and on ebay. In January 2008 members of Heelychat.com received a letter from then CEO of Heelys Mike Staffaroni. It stated that a new Mega-Grind model was scheduled to be released June 08. This Mega-Grind model was the Pro Series. As you know the Pro Series are yet to be released. It was later expected that they would be released in October but did not make it. They could be relased this month but may not appear until as late of March of 09, 9 months after their expected release date. In the past few months some members of Team Heelys have received pairs of the shoe which may be an indication that it is coming soon. They also appeared on Heelys.com a few months ago. All the styles present on Heelys website have been released with the exception of the Pro Series. Hopefully we will see them soon. Check out the Pro Series First Impression from Seth for all the information you need to know about the shoe.

Pro Series: first impression

The heelys pro series are the newest Heelys shoe that includes a mega wheel and a grindplate that many people have sought over after the discontinuation of the heelys torch. Although they are very alike in style they could not be any more different in comfort. The heelys Pro series (Heelys pro for short) has its ups and downs compared to the torch which had almost nothing but ups. The shoe being to stiff is one of them. It takes a good 2 or 3 days of wearing them in to completely settle into them and by then the shoe has a quiet used look already. Although many beg to differ, i believe the grindplates are also alot slower then the original express plates that came with torch. Don't think this shoe is horrible and adownfall yet the insoles of the heelys pro is ALOT more comfortable then the one on torch meaning you can barely feel your wheel there. The brakes have also been rised in comparison to the torch. this can either be a plus or a negative for you but for alot of us vert skaters it is definatly a plus. From me, the Heelys Pro get a B+ and if you dont already have torches these will be great for vert.
